Installing decals is a great way to customize and enhance the look of vehicles, walls, laptops, and other surfaces. To ensure a smooth application and a professional finish, follow these step-by-step instructions.

Step 1: Prepare the Surface
Before applying the decal, ensure the surface is clean and free of dust, dirt, and grease. Use mild soap and water or rubbing alcohol to clean the area. Allow it to dry completely before proceeding.
Step 2: Position the Decal
Hold the decal against the surface to determine the desired placement. Use a measuring tape to ensure it is centered and aligned properly. Once satisfied, secure the top edge of the decal with masking tape to create a hinge.
For larger decals, a center hinge may be helpful. Once the decal is in the desired position, place masking tape througn the center of the decal to create a center hinge. This allows you to work on half the decal at one time.
Step 3: Peel the Backing Paper
Carefully lift the decal from the bottom and peel away the backing paper, exposing the adhesive side. Be cautious not to touch the adhesive to avoid contaminants.
If using a center hinge, cut the backing paper close to the hinge. Hold the Transfer paper with your other hand to keep the decal from touching the surface.
Step 4: Apply the Decal
Slowly press the decal onto the surface from the top down, using a squeegee or credit card to smooth it out. Start from the center and move outward to eliminate air bubbles and wrinkles. Use straight, overlapping strokes to make sure the decal is applied evenly, without bubbles. Hold the decal away from surface until it is pressed down using the squeegee.
Step 5: Remove the Transfer Tape
If the decal has transfer tape, carefully peel it away at a 45-degree angle. Do this slowly to prevent lifting the decal. If any edges begin to peel, press them back down firmly.
Step 6: Final Touches
Check for any air bubbles. If small bubbles remain, gently pierce them with a pin and press them out with the squeegee. For curved surfaces, use a hairdryer or heat gun to slightly warm the decal, making it more flexible and easier to conform to the shape.
Step 7: Let It Set
Allow the decal to adhere fully for at least 24 hours before exposing it to moisture or heavy handling. This ensures a strong bond and long-lasting application.
